http://www.liz4cps.com/Main/Photos/Pages/Deer_%26_Woods.html My son spotted a small herd of deer in our front yard at twilight; there were probably about eight. To our surprise, they just stood in the front yard for a while, in spite of the noise we made and the fact that our border collie, Luath, was on the front step with us. Luath was being very good, staying in a down-stay. We stood there, thinking they’d run off after the noise I made coming outside. When they didn’t, my son went back to get my camera, but he didn’t find it, so he brought out my phone instead. I took three quick pictures with it but didn’t catch any deer in them. While I was doing that, he went back for my camera and I got a few photos of them as they started crossing behind our magnolia tree and into our neighbor’s front yard to our left. They went around the far side of the neighbor’s house and into the woods behind the houses. We went to our back deck and saw them go thru the woods and up to the street beyond that. It was a lot of fun to watch them; I wish the photos had come out better. I was telling folks in our chat room about it and so I’m posting more than I might otherwise. The deer are very well camouflaged in the woods. We were also talking about the woods around here, so I took some pictures of the trees around here as well. The leaves are just starting to come out, at the top of the trees first.
