Air & Space - liz4cps

Dulles Air & Space Museum

I went to the Dulles Air & Space Museum with my father-in-law, my husband’s nephew, and my son.  I didn’t label these immediately and wish now that I had because I’m not sure what half of these are.  Corrections are welcome!  The ones I got right are mostly because I took photos of the signs in front of them!

This facility is not downtown on the mall in DC where most of the Smithsonian is located.  The main Air & Space Museum is there but not everything they wanted to display could even begin to fit there!  The Dulles Air & Space contains a space shuttle and an amazing number of planes, space craft, gliders, and exhibits, primarily in two huge rooms.  You could walk on the main floor or on walkways about half way up towards the ceiling; we did both.

When we got to the space shuttle Enterprise, we walked around it, looking at the exhibits in that area.  I turned occasionally to take more photos of the shuttle, so that is why photos of the shuttle are interspersed with other photos.

The museum is really cool; so is the one on the mall.
